Welcome to the Mourne Mountain Marathon website
The next Mourne Mountain Marathon will be 15/16th September 2018
The Mourne Mountain Marathon is Ireland’s only two day endurance and navigation event held each year in the beautiful mountains of Mourne in Northern Ireland. It is run entirely on a voluntary and non-profit basis by a team with many years experience of organising and competing in this type of event.
2018 Entries Open 12th May
Spring is upon us and the MMM team have sprung into life – scouring the Mournes for interesting places to camp and boggy places to run courses through. We have a bit of work to do to update the website and get SI Entries set up so we expect to open up shop in mid May.
We’re all done and dusted now for 2017. Of course, an event of this size doesn’t happen without a great deal of help from very, many people and I am sure you will join us in thanking them all. Please take 5 minutes to read the roll-of-honour on the Credits 2017 page to show your appreciation of their efforts.
Finally – we would like to like to say thank you to all our competitors and wish you the very best of hiking and running in the hills wherever you are over the next 12 months. See you next September.
Results, Split Times and Pictures
Lots of good post race stuff will be uploaded to the website. See the Results Section for links.

Event Centre Revealed
We are pleased to announce that the Event Centre this year will be the Shimna Integrated College in Newcastle. This is a great new location to start from and we are very grateful to the college for accommodating us. Camping will be available at the centre on the Friday night for a small fee. Details of this arrangement will be given closer to the date.
NEW for 2017: The Mourne-2-Day is offering a 1 Day Score class.
This year in response to demand we are running a one day Score Class race on the Saturday. The nature of the Score class means that it is suitable for beginners and top end orienteerers alike. See here for details.
