Marking up maps at Mourne Mountain Marathon 2023

Due to the heavy rain on Sunday morning we had to remove 2 controls (144 and 138) on the other side of Spences River about half way through the start period for safety.

As a result the later starting C & D class teams had shorter courses. After careful analysis of the split times and the courses we have decided that the fairest thing to do is to award prizes to winners in both versions of those courses and the two sets results are published below.

N.B. All of Sundays courses had some controls removed before the start to allow for the bad weather conditions.

Well done to everyone for getting through a very tough day.

Routegadget

Routegadget will show your course animated using average time for each straight leg but you can over plot this by drawing in your actual route to each control. If you have a GPS file from your watch you can upload this for the ultimate post-event-navigational-angst-fest.

Due to the variations in C and D courses the default course plots will jump around a bit but you can still do like for like comparisons on matching sections.  GPS uploads need to be manually fitted to the controls visited.

See our FAQ section for a brilliantly written guide on how to use Routegadget. (If you don’t like it then search the web for one of the many shaky video guides).

Routegadget provides automatic analysis but will only work where teams where teams have taken the same Control order through the clusters.
