Why Trees Not Tees?

Trees Not Tees is an innovative initiative aimed at reducing waste and supporting reforestation efforts. Each year, millions of event t-shirts and other swag items are produced, many of which end up in landfills.

By choosing to plant a tree instead, competitors can make a positive environmental impact and contribute to the fight against climate change.

How It Works

When entering for the Mourne Mountain Marathon, you will now have the option to opt-out of receiving a t-shirt and choose to plant a tree instead.

Simply tick the box on the entry form. For those who still want a t-shirt, don’t worry, that option is still available too.

Competitors who choose to plant a tree will receive a personalised e-certificate from Trees Not Tees. This certificate includes a photo of your tree, its species and the what3words geolocation of where it’s planted.

It’s a wonderful keepsake to commemorate your contribution to a greener planet and can be proudly shared on social media.
