2021 Event Centre Revealed
We are very pleased to announce that this year’s event centre will be located at the Sandy Brae near Attical, grid reference 263 205. This venue is great for access to the Western Mournes, an area we have not been in for some years. An area which presents a different side to the Mournes, an area of great expanses of less frequented rough mountain terrain. Our course planner has been working away, hunting out interesting features and planning ways to scramble your brains, so that’s good isn’t it?!!
Friday Night Accommodation
Our event centre will be close to the field where we had the overnight campsite in 2014, and camping will be available before the event for those who want to avail of it. There are plenty of guest houses and B&B’s in Attical and the surrounding environs for those who want to go a bit more up market! Can I make special mention of Leitrim Hill B&B, proprietor Mrs. Anne Quinn, 07762469741 www.leitrimhillbedandbreakfast.com who is helping with the event this year and will provide a warm welcome to any MMM competitor.
1 Tent or 2?
Like last year, we’re sticking with the two-tent rule per team, to comply with social distancing. So, each team must bring an extra tent to be used at the overnight camp.
Don’t worry, you will not have extra weight to carry as we’ll transport the second tent to the campsite for you. Participants may share a single tent – within one team or between teams – if they are from the same household or a “support bubble”. You will need to supply the names of persons sharing when making your online entry.
One other thing, there will be no showers available after the finish.
